Big fourth quarter helps Calais grab girls basketball win over Woodland

Kate McPhee scored 24 points to lead the Calais Lady Blue Devils to a 71-61 win over Woodland on Tuesday afternoon. Calais outscored Woodland 20-11 in the final quarter to pull away for the win.

Neveah Thomas put in 20 points, while Kayleigh Scott had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Mercedes Owen added 11 points for the Lady Blue Devils. Calais (3-2) will play at Washington Academy on Friday.

Karleigh Smith scored a team high 19 points for the Lady Dragons. Brooke Smith recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Hannah Lockenwitz and Nicole Cox added 11 points each. Calais out rebounded Woodland 37-24. Woodland (2-2) will play at Narraguagus on Thursday.
