Bruins have their unbeaten home regulation streak broken

January 13, 2023

The Seattle Kraken won their seventh game in a row on Thursday night 3-0 over the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, ending a home regulation unbeaten streak by Boston that dates back to last season. The loss also ends a 14 game points streak (11-0-3).

Boston (32-5-4) had been 19-0-3 at home this season, with the three defeats being one in overtime and two in a shootout. The B’s had also been 26-0-3 in their last 29 regulation home games including the playoffs, and suffered their first loss in regulation since April 14 of last season against Ottawa. Brandon Tanev scored a first period goal at 7:14, and that is all Seattle (25-12-4) would need. Eeli Tolvanen added a late goal in the second, and Jaden Schwartz capped off the scoring with an empty netter in the third period.

Linus Ullmark made 28 saves in net in the loss for Boston. Martin Jones stopped all 27 shots for Seattle, while Oliver Bjorkstrand, Yanni Gourde, Daniel Sprong, Adam Larsson, and Vince Dunn had one assist each. The Bruins return to action on Saturday night at the Garden when they welcome in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
