Ellsworth girls advance behind record tying shooting performance

BANGOR- Ellsworth would lead from start to finish on Friday evening, and cruised to a 68-33 win over the MDI Trojans in a Class B girls quarterfinal game played at the Cross Insurance Center behind a now share of the Class B Tournament record for three-pointers in the game.

Abby Radel led the way in the Eagles win with 17 points. Grace Jaffray scored 12 points to go along with 15 rebounds and five assists. Morgan Clifford would help tie that Class B Tournament record in a game by hitting five from downtown on the way to 11 from behind the arc as a team. #3 Ellsworth (16-3) will advance to a Wednesday semifinal to play #2 Caribou at 10 a.m.

MDI was led by Lexi Tozier who had 12 points, and nine rebounds. Mollie Gray had seven points and four assists, as the sixth-seeded Trojans end their season with a record of 11-9.
