BANGOR— The Wisdom Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 21-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in a 62-29 win over Jonesport-Beals in a Maine Principals’ Association Class D girls basketball quarterfinal game on Saturday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.
Lilly Roy scored 10 of her game high 24 points in the first quarter as Wisdom jumped out to a 13 point lead. Olivia Ouellette nine points in the first eight minutes. Wisdom outscored the Royalettes 8-7 in the second quarter to take a 29-15 halftime advantage.
Roy added nine points in the third quarter as Wisdom put the game away. Roy also had seven steals, six rebounds, three blocks, and two assists to go with her game high point total. Ouellette added 17 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, and four assists. Ava Lerman chipped in with 10 points and six steals. Wisdom (19-0) will take on East Grand in a semifinal game on Wednesday night.
Rachel Crowley led the Royalettes with seven points, Mia Mills added five points and six rebounds. Jonesport-Beals finishes the season with a 8-12 record.
