DEXTER— Kayden Kimball went 3-3 with two triples and six RBI to power the Dexter baseball team to an 11-1 win over PCHS on Monday afternoon.

The Tigers offense didn’t waste any time. Bryce Connor and Payson Rienhardt started the bottom of the first with walks. Kimball, Will Spratt, and Ben Bourgoin followed with singles as the Tigers put three on the scoreboard.

The Tigers continued to put the pressure on in the second inning. With the bases loaded, Kimball smacked one to deep left that scored the base runners and Kimball also scored on a Pirates error as Dexter took a 7-0 lead. The Tigers stole 10 bases, including eight (five in first inning) in the first two innings.

While the offense poured on the runs early in the game, Spratt was taking care of things on the mound. After the leadoff batter for the Pirates reached on an error, Spratt retired the next nine including striking out four. The Tigers added four more runs in the bottom of the third inning, as Kimball again got the big hit when he drilled another triple this time to even deeper left field to score two runs.

Caleb Bowman took over on the mound in the fourth inning. The freshman struck out the side.

Bowman retired the side in order in the fifth inning as the Tigers finished off the five inning run rule win. Bowman struck out five in his two innings. Connor, Payson Rienhardt, and Kimball each scored two runs. Connor, Spratt, Bourgoin, and Blaine Gould each had one RBI. Dexter (3-4) will play at Mattanawcook on Wednesday.

The Pirates scored their only run in the fourth inning when Scott Chadbourne walked and came around to score when Noah Kain singled. The hit by Kain was the only one for the Pirates. PCHS (4-2) will play three consecutive days starting with a game at Stearns on Wednesday.
