Athlete of the week nominations- 5/14-5/20

Female nominations

  • Emma Michaud – Winslow – softball – In the circle, Michaud struck out 11 and walked 1. She had both of the Black Raiders hits, one being a home run over the fence in 4-1 loss to Nokomis.
  • Mia Coots- Nokomis- softball- Pitched a six inning no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and no walks in 10-0 win over Foxcroft Academy. Struck out 20, including the 500th of her career in 4-1 win over Winslow.
  • Molly Sipple- PCHS – track and field . In a meet at Foxcroft Academy,  finished 4fh in High jump 4-00, 1sr in Discus –  94-03, Sipple 4x100m relay team with Jazmin Channon, Kendall Kimball. and Samantha Goodwin finished first with PR record of 55.50.
  • Emma Doucette- Old Town- softball- pitched a four hitter with eight strikeouts in 3-0 win over Ellsworth.
  • Ana Lang- Searsport- softball- pitched a one hitter with 16 strikeouts in the circle and was intentionally walked four times in 2-0 win over Dexter. Allowed five hits and one earned and struck out 14 in 9-2 win over Stearns. Struck out 20 in 8-5 loss to Narraguagus. Pitched a one hitter with 14 strikeouts in circle and had three hits,  including triple and home run in 5-0 win over Woodland.

Male nominations

  • Nate Ashey- Searsport- baseball- went 4-5 in 7-3 win over Dexter.
  • Eli  Veilleux –  Belfast- baseball- had three hits, three RBI, and was winning pitcher in 12-2 win over Winslow.
  • Gabe Gifford- Old Town- baseball- pitched a one hitter with 12 strikeouts and hit a homer in 13-0 five inning win over Ellsworth.
