Athlete of the week nominations – 9/3-9/9

Female nominations

  • Hilary Howard- Foxcroft Academy- Field Hockey  -Scored four goals during the week to help keep Foxcroft Academy undefeated. She recorded a hat trick in the 4-1 win over Mountain Valley and one goal in the 1-0 victory over Stearns.
  • Breanna Shorey, – Belfast- field hockey the junior on the has scored seven goals in two games this week helping the Lions to shut out victories.
  • Madison Stewart- Hermon- soccer- had three goals and one assist in 9-1 win over MDI.
  • Olivia Varney- MCI- soccer- had a hat trick in 4-0 win over Belfast.
  • Grace Lewis- Bangor Christian- soccer- had two goals in 3-2 win over Sumner.
  • Ava Ezell – Hodgdon- soccer-  the freshman had three goals and one assist in a win over Madawaska.
  • Rylee Moulton- PVHS- soccer- had four goals and one assist in 7-1 win over Bangor Christian.
  • Naomi Bragg Bucksport-  volleyball against NYA in game five the Bucks were down 5-11 and served 6 straight aces to tie up the game.
  • Addison Conklin:- Penquis- soccer  10 goals and 6 assists to help the Patriots go 3-0 during the week, outscoring opponents 24-0
  • Violet Chai: – Penquis- soccer- scored seven goals and had three assists as the Patriots went 3-0
  • Karina Dumond – Old Town- soccer had one goal in 2-0 win over Caribou. She had two goals to help lead the way to a 4-2 win breaking the Hermon Hawks 55 game win streak.

Male nominations

  • Jay Tweedie Orono – soccer  had two goals and one assist in 5-1 win over Houlton. Had one goal in 1-1 tie against Bucksport.
  • Cohen Galley – Oceanside- football rushed for 197 yards on 13 carries with four touchdowns including a 90 yarder, and also added 119 yards passing and a touchdown in 38-24 win over Hermon
  • Bruce Coulter- Hermon- football – rushed for 126 yards on 21 attempts with four touchdowns, and also intercepted a pass on defense in 38-24 loss to Oceanside.
  • Owen Sweeney Easton – soccer – had three goals and three assists in 7-0 win over Ashland, had six goals and two assists in 10-1 win over Washburn, had two goals snd three assists in 7-0 win against Central Aroostook.  Sweeney was also recognized this week for going over the 100 career goal mark.
  • Drew Shorey – MCI – football- had  11 receptions for 283 yards and five touchdowns with a kickoff return touchdown.
  • Caleb Kennedy- MCI- football- went 15-28 for 302 yards and five touchdowns with a rushing touchdown.
