Husson men’s, women’s soccer and field hockey were all in action at home on Saturday

The Husson men’s and women’s soccer teams hosted conference games on Saturday afternoon, while Eagles field hockey welcomed in #13 Bowdoin College for non-conference action on Saturday evening.

On Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field in Bangor- The Husson men’s and women’s soccer teams outscored visiting Vermont State University Lyndon by a combined 34-0 for a pair of lopsided North Atlantic Conference wins. In the men’s contest, Miguel Morales (three goals, one assist), Mario Alvarez (two goals, two assists), Alejandro Mora (two goals, two assists), and Miguel Duborjal (one goal, three assists) all had four points each as Husson rolled to their fifth straight win. Alex Rechsteiner had the shutout in net. The Eagles improve to 6-2-3, 2-0-0 in the NAC and will host Colby in non-conference play on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. In the women’s game, Husson broke open a fairly competitive game with eight second half goals breezing to what is also now a five game win streak. Rylee Speed and Edie Shea both had two goals to lead the Eagles, with Hannah Kenney posting a shutout in goal. Husson is now 6-3, 2-0 in conference play and will host Tufts University in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at noon.

At the Winkin Complex in Bangor- The #13 Bowdoin Polar Bears scored the first three goals of the game, and would roll past Husson 5-1 in a non-conference field hockey matchup. Caroline Higgins had a hat trick for Bowdoin (6-2), and Faith Jennings along with Sophia Rosati also tallied in the victory. Julia Arsenault had one save in the cage. Teagan Blackie scored the lone Husson goal, and Kimmie Goddard made four saves. The Eagles are now 3-3 and stay at home for more non-conference play on Sunday when they host Colby at 4 p.m.
