November 7, 2023
PORTLAND, Maine – Maddie Niles from the Lawrence High School (Fairfield, ME) field hockey team announced today she has signed a name, image and likeness (NIL) partnership with Aroma Joe’s development office of Maine and New Hampshire, which supports the New England-based coffee shop. She will be a community ambassador for the company and will spread positivity by supporting and promoting community events across Maine and New Hampshire. She will receive compensation for the use of her name, image and likeness, including social media posts and promotional appearances for Aroma Joe’s development office of Maine and New Hampshire.

The NIL partnership was brokered by Pliable Marketing, a Maine-based, marketing company that specializes in athlete branding. The company’s list of athlete branding clients includes more than 30 high school, college, and professional athletes from across the country.

Niles, 16, has NIL representation from Pliable as she pursues her career in field hockey, modeling and her career after sports.

“I love Aroma Joe’s, so when I found out about this opportunity, it was something I really wanted to do. Being a community ambassador will give me more chances to support local organizations and help with fundraising for many great causes. I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to spreading positivity in Maine and New Hampshire,” said Maddie Niles, field hockey player at Lawrence High School.

As a sophomore, Niles set the Lawrence High School field hockey record for goals (38) in a season in 2022 and was part of the field hockey team’s first ever Class B State Championship. In 2023, as a junior, Niles was a team captain and led the team in scoring. She was recently named First Team KVAC, and a member of the National Honor Society.

“Maddie is an outstanding role model in her community and a person who exemplifies what we are looking for in a community ambassador. She works extremely hard in school, on the field and to support her community. We are proud to be able to partner with Maddie as she pursues her passion to play field hockey in college and spread positivity to others. She already has experience with NIL opportunities, so this was a perfect fit,” said Crystal Brown, community marketing manager at Maine/New Hampshire at Aroma Joe’s development office.

The NIL partnership between Maddie Niles and Aroma Joe’s development office of Maine and New Hampshire marks the third community ambassador for the company. Sadie Armstrong, a softball player at Portland High School and Alyssa Bourque, a track and field athlete at the University of Vermont have also signed NIL partnerships as community ambassadors with the Aroma Joe’s development office of Maine and New Hampshire.

As part of the NIL partnership, Niles will make a series of social media posts about Aroma Joe’s development office of Maine and New Hampshire and the company’s community events. She will also be compensated for using her name, image and likeness for player appearances, as well as other promotional content.

“Maddie loves Aroma Joe’s and has earned this opportunity because of everything she has done in her community, in the classroom and on the field. The partnership with Aroma Joe’s is perfect for Maddie because the company is community-focused and supports other local athletes and their passions. Maddie and Aroma Joe’s share similar same values, most importantly, to make a positive impact in the community. When it comes to name, image and likeness opportunities, Maddie is a trailblazer. She wants to play field hockey in college and this partnership aligns well with her career goals, including growing the game of field hockey for the next generation,” said Greg Glynn, founder & CEO of Pliable.
