Kristen Grant had 17 points, while Layla Wright had 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead Machias to a 47-38 girls basketball win at Woodland on Monday night.
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Woodland 13-6 and held on to move to 2-0 on the season.
Karleigh Smith recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and three assists to lead the Lady Dragons. Autumn Honas pulled down 12 rebounds. Machias shot 10-16 from the free throw line, while Woodland shot 6-20.
Machias will play at Shead on Wednesday. Woodland (1-1) will be at Washington Academy on Friday.
