BANGOR- The Dexter Lady Tigers held a 23-1 halftime lead and cruised to a 43-20 win over Mount View in a MPA girls basketball Class C quarterfinal game played on Tuesday night at the Cross Insurance Center.
Cally Gudroe had six points in the first quarter as Dexter had a 10-0 lead after the first eight minutes. The Tigers had five different scorers in the second quarter as they expanded the lead to 22.
Mount View outscored Dexter 12-9 in the third quarter. All five starters for the Lady Tigers scored at least seven points. Abi Corson and Hannah Dean led the way in the win. Corson had 10 points and eight assists, while Dean had 10 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Gudroe had eight points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Desirae Adams added eight points, and Mazie Peach filled up the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, eight blocks, and four steals. Dexter (18-1) will play Mattanawcook in a semifinal game on Thursday night at 8:30 PM.
Arianna Bradeen led the Lady Mustangs with eight points and seven rebounds. Lily Parsons added seven points. Mount View finishes the season with a 14-6 record.
