The Maine Celtics get first round bye in NBA G League Playoffs

The Maine Celtics (G League Affiliate of the Boston Celtics) got a first round bye for the league playoffs. Maine avoided an Eastern Conference quarterfinal game, and will await the winner of #6 seed Delaware (19-15) and #3 Indiana (21-13) that will be played Tuesday night. The Celtics will host the Blue Coats or Mad Ants in a semifinal matchup on Thursday night at the Portland Expo at 7 p.m. which can be seen live on ESPN News.

Maine (21-13) is the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference, finishing one game behind the top seeded Osceola Magic (22-12). Osceola plays host to the winner of the other quarterfinal game between the #5 Long Island Nets (19-15) and #4 Capital City Go-Go (20-14). The conference finals will take place on Sunday at the highest seeds remaining. All postseason games in the G League are single elimination, until the G League Finals which are a best of three series. The Celtics finished a strong regular season by defeating the Texas Legends 110-109 on Saturday, going 9-2 in the month of March to solidify a playoff spot and first round bye.
