Addy Waning had two RBI, while Mikelle Verrill took care of the rest in the circle to lead Hermon to a 5-0 softball win over MDI on Monday afternoon.
Verrill pitched a complete game three hit shutout, striking out 10. The game was scoreless through four innings, the Hawks (4-1) scored two in the fifth inning and added three more. Katie Fowler reached base twice for Hermon.
Taylor Grant allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits and five walks, while striking out 13 for the Trojans.
