UMass-Lowell jumped out to an 11 point first half lead on Tuesday night, and defeated Maine 67-56 in America East men’s basketball action on Skip Chappelle Court at Memorial Gymnasium in Orono in the regular season finale.
Angel Montas Jr. hit 14-20 from the floor and scored a game-high 33 points for the Riverhawks. Victoe Okojie added 11 points and 15 rebounds. UMass-Lowell (14-17, 9-7 America East) finished as the #4 seed for the upcoming conference playoffs. Logan Carey and Mekhi Gray each put in 14 points in the loss for the Black Bears. Keelan Steele and Ace Flagg contributed nine points a piece. Gray grabbed nine rebounds, Steele had eight, and Flagg hauled in five. Maine (8-23, 6-10 in league play) is the #6 seed and will play on the road in the quarterfinals. See that quarterfinal schedule here-
