Anika Ewert and Kaitlyn Fado had two hits each to lead Bowdoin to a 3-1 softball win over UMF in game one of a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
Maddie Current pitched five shutout innings to earn the win in the circle. Natalie Simpson (Bucksport) pitched well for the Beavers, allowing only two earned runs in the complete game effort.
Ewert had the three hits to lead the Bobcats to an 11-4 game two win. Baylie Wong also had three hits. Jessica Dow (Thornton) and Ava Paglianite had two hits each for the Beavers. Maddie Pike hit a two run double.
