Pastrnak overtime breakaway goal keeps the Bruins alive in first round playoff series

David Pastrnak scored on a breakaway 9:14 into overtime on Tuesday night, as the Boston Bruins stayed alive in their best of seven First Round NHL playoff series with a 2-1 Game 5 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres still leads the series 3-2 with Game 6 back at TD Garden coming up on Friday night.

Rasmus Dahlin had a first period powerplay goal for Buffalo to get the scoring started, before Elias Lindholm answered for Boston with an unassisted marker in the second. Jeremy Swayman (25 saves) made a season saving pad stop on Alex Tuch in front of the Bruins net in overtime, right before a pass by Hampus Lindholm sent Pastrnak in on the game ending breakaway goal.
