CMCC baseball wins second straight conference championship

The Central Maine Community College baseball team made it back to back Yankee Small College Conference titles on Saturday by beating York County Community College in the championship game 9-1 in Auburn.

The Mustangs scored five times in the second inning in rolling to the win. Dawson Babineau had two hits for CMCC. Jake Culver drove in three, while T.J. Kramarz (Edward Little) and Brendan Mahaney (Old Town) had two RBI each. Cody Cleaveland (Lincoln Academy), Culver, and Mahaney would score two runs a piece. Augustino Bonadie (3-2) earned the pitching win as he fired a complete game allowing one run on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. The Mustangs are 26-8 and receive the automatic conference bid to the USCAA Small College World Series in Dubois, Pennsylvania. CMCC won their first ever World Series game in program history last May. Gabe Leitch had three hits in the loss for the Hawks as they end their season with a record of 28-12.
