Husson women’s lacrosse wins second straight NAC Title

The #1 seeded Husson women’s lacrosse team captured another title by winning their second straight North Atlantic Conference crown on Saturday afternoon in taking down Maine Maritime Academy 12-9 in the league final at Boucher Field in Bangor.

Senior Averi Baker (Hall-Dale) had four goals and two assists, including an unassisted tally that turned out to be the game winner 55 seconds into the third quarter for the Eagles. Freshman Salin Bachor (North Yarmouth Academy) made seven saves in net. Kate Boehmcke would also collect five points on the day (four goals, one assist). Bella Scolaro had two goals and two assists, while Lillian Diversi (Gardiner) scored three times to lead the Mariners in the loss. Maine Maritime ends up with an 8-5 record. Husson is now 11-4 and is headed back to the NCAA Division III Tournament for a second straight season. The schedule and pairings will be released on Monday afternoon.
