Bucksport softball holds off Orono to win ninth consecutive game

Avery Robshaw and Emma Clement both drove in two runs on Wednesday afternoon, in leading Bucksport (9-1) softball to their ninth straight victory with a 6-4 win over Orono.

Robshaw had three hits with two singles and her fifth homerun of the season, and also scored two runs. Clement had two hits. Alivia Shute made an extended diving catch in rightfield with two runners on base to end the game in the bottom of the seventh inning to preserve the Golden Bucks victory. Marina Keene went the distance in getting the win in the circle allowing two earned runs with one walk and five strikeouts. Andrea Crocker had two hits and scored twice for the Red Riots, while Jill Severance also fired a complete game giving up five earned runs with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
