Bowdoin softball eliminated at Moravian Regional by SUNY Cortland

SUNY Cortland took a 4-0 lead, and held on to beat Bowdoin College 4-2 in an elimination game of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament on Friday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Reilly Parga led the Polar Bears with one hit and one RBI, while Kathleen Hester (8-2) took the pitching loss in the circle allowing three runs on five runs with three walks and four strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Bowdoin ends their season with a record of 27-11. Shelby Lamont had two hits and one RBI, while both Laila Smith and Maggie Cummings had one hit and one RBI each for the Red Dragons (27-16). Cortland won another elimination game over #21 Westfield State later on Friday, and will now take on host Moravian on Saturday in the regional championship.
