Cat Facchini broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the second inning with a RBI sacrifice fly in helping to lead #5 Hampden Academy to a 5-3 Class A softball quarterfinal win over #4 Edward Little in Auburn on Thursday afternoon.
Aubrey Shaw led the Broncos (11-6) with three hits, while Lolah Cowing, Khloe Hellum, and Piper Parker had two hits each. Parker had two RBI and also stole two bases. Along with providing the game winning sacrifice fly, Facchini also earned the win in the circle in pitching a complete game allowing two earned runs on seven hits with four walks and six strikeouts. Allison Michaud had three hits for the Red Eddies, while Elizabeth Galway had one hit and one RBI. Edward Little ends their season at 10-7.
