Hampden Academy scored four runs in the top of the 11th inning on Saturday, and despite eight errors in the game would hold off top seed Oxford Hills 10-8 in a Class A North softball semifinal played in South Paris.
Charlotte Tardif had a two-run single in that 11th inning that ended up being the game winning hit for the Broncos. Cat Facchini and Piper Parker each had two hits. Parker had three RBI. Aubrey Shaw, Mariah Coon, Facchini, and Khloe Hellum scored two runs a piece. Facchini also got the win in the circle allowing eight runs (only one of those was earned) on six hits with nine walks and eight strikeouts in 8.2 innings. Peyton Cleveland led the Vikings from the leadoff spot, scoring three runs while walking twice and also had one RBI. Oxford Hills ends their season with a record of 15-3. #5 Hampden (12-6) will take on #2 Lewiston for the regional championship on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
