Roderick-Crosby and Oxford Hills split Senior Legion baseball doubleheader

The Roderick-Crosby Post 28 Flyers and Oxford Hills would split a Senior Legion baseball doubleheader in Farmington on Friday night.

In Game 1- Killian Pillsbury provided a game winning sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, as the Flyers took the opener 8-7. Pillsbury drove in two runs, while Jax Vienneau also had two RBI for Roderick-Crosby. Parker Smith pitched the final 1.2 innings to earn the pitching victory in relief, including retiring the side in order in the bottom of the eighth to end it. Jakob Burckhart and Logan Norris had two RBI each for Oxford Hills.

Game 2- Oxford Hills (13-3) exploded for nine runs in the second, and salvaged the split with a mercy ruled 19-3 victory in five innings. Keegan Pulkkinen had three hits and five RBI. He also stole a base and scored a run. Norris (two hits) and Cassius Thibeault (three hits) each added three RBI. Jackson Stack and Jacoby Turcotte contributed two hits a piece. Stack had two RBI and Turcotte had one. Burckhart allowed 10 hits but did pick up the win on the mound giving up three runs (one earned) with one walk and four strikeouts in the five inning performance. Vienneau and Kaiden Longley had two hits each for Roderick-Crosby (9-9), with Pillsbury and Longley each recording one RBI.
