Elsa Copeland scored in the 50th minute on Tuesday night in Lewiston, in leading #10 Bates field hockey to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Thomas College. The Bobcats didn’t allow a shot on goal, and became the first team this season to shutout the Terriers (2-3). Ava Donohue played in net for Bates (2-2), while Eliya Drummond (Nokomis) stopped five shots in the cage for Thomas College. Both teams are in action again on Saturday, as Bates hosts #24 Lynchburg and Thomas plays on the road at Skidmore College.
