Press release from Bangor Christian
BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Christian School is pleased to announce Athletic Director Rich Lowell as the new Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach.
Coach Lowell began his coaching career more than 30 years ago, including 12 years coaching basketball and soccer overseas. He also has deep roots in Bangor Christian athletics, having previously served as the Varsity Baseball Head Coach in the early 2000s as well as multiple other coaching roles. He brings extensive basketball knowledge, a wide range of coaching experience, and a passion for developing young people through athletics.
As school leadership, we believe Coach Lowell is the right fit for our program because he fulfills a need that goes beyond coaching basketball. His desire is not only to develop basketball players, but to invest in young men spiritually, build character, develop leaders, and point them toward Christ. At Bangor Christian, athletics are an extension of our mission. We want our student-athletes to compete with excellence while developing faith, integrity, discipline, perseverance, humility, and a commitment to serving others. We believe Coach Lowell shares that vision and will challenge our players to pursue excellence on the court while understanding that who they become as young men is far more important than the final score.
Bangor Christian School looks forward to this next chapter of Patriots Basketball and to seeing how God will use Coach Lowell and the basketball program to impact the lives of our student-athletes.
