Olivia Charles recorded a hat trick, Ella Hosford (Bucksport) scored twice, and five others had one goal each on Saturday afternoon as Husson women’s soccer crushed Vermont State University Lyndon 10-0 in a North Atlantic Conference match on Senior Day at Boucher Field in Bangor.
Hosford scored the first two goals of the day just 1:04 apart at 1:03 and 2:07 of the first half for the Eagles. Charles had one tally in the first half, then notched her hat trick by scoring in the second half in the 79th and 82nd minute. Hailey Tarbox (Sanford), Rylee Speed (Central), Olivia Lizzotte (Old Town), Paige Dunn, and Emma Nicholson all scored a goal each. It was the first collegiate goal for the freshman Lizzotte. Dunn and Thea Gerfen also contributed three assists a piece. Lauryn Smart (Hampden Academy) and Aubrey Fadden both played in net to combine for the shutout. Husson is now 6-4-2 and 4-1 in the NAC, and will play a league game at UMPI next Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
