Meadows scores twice, as Maine women’s soccer tops UNH in road conference action

UConn transfer Isabella Meadows scored one goal in each half on Sunday afternoon, in helping to lead Maine past UNH 2-1 in America East women’s soccer action at Wildcat Stadium in Durham, NH.

Meadows scored her first one in the 13th minute off assists from Victoria Dungey and Abbey Thornton (Windham). She then netted the eventual game winner in the 55th minute off helpers from Sandrine Brault and Olivia Grisdale. Abby Beasley got UNH on the board with about seven minutes left, but it was too little late as the Wildcats (3-8-2) remained winless in America East at 0-5. Elena Barenberg made two saves in goal in the Maine win. The Black Bears improve to 6-4-3 and 3-1-1 in conference play, and will play their next match on Thursday night at 7 p.m. when they make a road trip to Rhode Island to take on Bryant.
