Porcello and the offense stay hot as Red Sox improve to 15-2

Rick Porcello pitched six shutout innings and the Boston Red Sox bats stayed hot in a 9-0 win over the Los Angeles at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Wednesday night.

Mitch Moreland had three hits and four RBI, including a run scoring single to get the scoring started in the first inning and a two run homer to cap the scoring in the ninth inning.

Rafael Devers hit a grand slam to highlight a five run third inning. JD Martinez had four hits, including a solo home run. Mookie Betts and Rafael Devers has two hits each

Porcello struck out two to get out of a first inning jam. He cruised from that point. Porcello hasn’t allowed a run in the last 13 innings and hasn’t issued a walk in the last 22.2 innings.

Devers at 21, is the youngest Red Sox player to hit a grand slams since a 20-year Tony Conigliaro did it in 1965. The Red Sox have got four grand slams this season. They didn’t hit one during the 2017 season. Alex Cora is the first rookie manager ever to start his career with 15 wins in his first 17 games. The teams will wrap up their three game series on Thursday night.
