The Dexter Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 5-1 win over Calais in a class C boys soccer Maine Principals’ Association prelim game played Friday afternoon at Dexter.
Nathan Richards got the Tigers started quickly with a goal just three minutes into the game. Richards also added three first half assists.
Kobe Pillsbury put in two first half goals while Ethan Boutilier added one. Trevor Richards gave the eighth seeded Tigers an insurance goal 18 minutes into the second half.
Blake Collins scores the lone goal for Calais with 10 minutes left in the game. They had another opportunity on a penalty kick but Tigers goalie J.J. Devine was able to save the initial shot and the rebound shot as well.
Dexter (7-8) has won four of their last five and will look to keep the momentum going when they take the long trip to take on top seed Fort Kent on Tuesday. Calais finishes the season with a 6-9 record.
