Bangor,ME- The Husson University Men’s Basketball team (4-4) fell to the Lasell University Lasers (2-9) 88-69 Thursday night at Newman Gymnasium in non-conference action.
The game started out back and forth early in the first half with each team swapping the lead. The Lasers started to pull away late in the half with a fast paced offense getting up the floor and keeping the ball moving for open shots which extended their first half lead to as much as 12 points. The Eagles went on a run to cut the lead to four heading into halftime with a Justice Kendall three point basket at the buzzer which made the score 40-36 at the break. That is as close as the Eagles would get as Lasell kept the hot hand in shooting in the second half to slowly pull away and get their second win of the season.
Husson was led by Justice Kendall who had a team high 15 points. Justin Thompson added 12 points, with DJ Bussey finishing with 10 points. Derek Collin also came off the bench and had six points.
Lasell was led by Kevin Nunez who had a game high 26 points. Stefan Masciarelli had 19 points, while Johnathan Friberg added 18 points and six rebounds.
Husson finishes up their four game home stand Saturday vs New England College at 1pm.
