Reece Carter scores career high in Howlers win over Bangor Christian

At Howland, senior Reece Carter connected on four 3-pointers en route to a career high 23 points in only three quarters of play, as the Howlers knocked off the Bangor Christian 61-25 on Thursday night.

Carter scored seven of his points in the first quarter, as PVHS took a 13-7 lead after one. Zach Doore chipped in with four points of his own during this frame. Carter added another seven points in the 2nd quarter, as Penobscot Valley increased it’s lead to 26-9.
Carter continued where he left off after halftime, hitting his first 3-point attempts. Zach Mitchell also had an impressive quarter, tallying six points. Kaden Robert did his best to keep B.C. in it, scoring all five of his points in the 3rd.
Nine of the eleven players for Penobscot Valley scored, with Mitchell scoring eight, Shane Borrello and Ryan Thompson with six each. Doore, Alex Tash, Lance Neal and Bryce Seeley with four each, and Gabe Reed with two. Bangor Christian was paced by Brady Reed’s nine points and David Stanley’s eight. Robert had five and Jason Libbey finished with three.

The Howlers improve to 2-1 and will host Searsport on Saturday, while the Patriots drop to 0-2 and travel to Guilford Monday to take on PCHS.
