HODGDON- Cece Allard had four hits and six RBI on Friday as the Highview Christian softball team pounded out 19 hits to defeat the Hodgdon Hawks 17-13 in Class D action in a game played at Hodgdon High School.
The Knights from Charleston took a 8-0 lead in the second inning over the home standing Hawks then held on for their second victory of the season.
Allard had a pair of RBI singles and also a pair of two run doubles to help lead the way. Cassidy Lessner had three hits and three runs driven in and also scored five runs while Kelsea McDonald also had three hits, an RBI and five runs scored. Megan McDonald had three hits and an RBI and Michaela Hill had two hits and a pair of RBI, that included a two run inside the park homer.
Kora Lambert led the way for Hodgdon (3-6) with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI while Tianna McEwen and Kendra Gresko also had two hits a piece.
K. McDonald got the win in the circle for Highview Christian (2-4) going the complete seven innings, allowing 10 earned runs, nine hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
Highview Christian returns to action on Monday at 4 p.m. at Thomas College in Waterville against Rangeley while Hodgdon plays Limestone at home Monday also at 4 p.m.
