Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 324 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominationn. Donovan Kurt is coming off a major brain surgery just six months ago to remove a cancerous tumor. He is still actively doing chemotherapy while tearing it up on the soccer field. He was just recently cleared to play.

- Cazz Jobin- Greenville- soccer – scored 7 goals in 9-3 win over Dexter. Had one goal in 4-1 loss to PCHS.
Other nominations
- Zach Needham- Orono- soccer – had a hat trick in 9-1 win over Central. Had one assist in 5-0 win over Old Town.
- Elijah Mathewson- Hodgdon- soccer- had one save on two shots as keeper and had one assist as halfback in 14-0 win over East Grand. Had 10 saves on 12 shots in 1-0 win over Houlton.
