Charlie Coyle had a pair of goals, and Trent Frederic scored a first period game winner as the Boston Bruins broke a two game losing streak with 4-1 win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden Sunday afternoon.

Coyle and Frederic made it 2-0 Boston at 6:41 and 18:14 of the first. Charlie McAvoy made it 3-0 with his third of the season at 10:20 of the second. New York (7-9-3) did get on the scoreboard when Colin Blackwell tallied his fifth at 10:47 of the third, but Coyle ended any thoughts of a comeback with a shorthanded marker at 18:05 to end the scoring.

Boston, who had been outscored 13-4 in the previous two games including a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Friday night, moves to 12-5-2. Tuuka Rask made 20 saves, and Coyle (two goals), McAvoy (one goal, one assist), and David Pastrnak (two assists) were the multiple point scorers.
