Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 329 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had six Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Rylee Eaton averaged 24.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 5 steals in leading Deer Isle-Stonington to two wins. Eaton edged out Jade Leeman (Hermon) and Jaycie Christopher (Skowhegan) to become the third Deer Isle-Stonington student/athlete to earn athlete of the week honors. She joins Lily Gray (1-9-17) and Myles Brown (2) (2-3-2020).

Rylee Eaton – Deer Isle Stonington- basketball- Had 25 Points, 10 assists, eight steals, seven rebounds and one block in 88-10 win over George Stevens. Recorded 24 Points, 14 Rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in 74-33 win over Searsport.
Runner up
- Jade Leeman- Hermon- basketball- had 32 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 73-41win over Nokomis. Had 19 points, six rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 49-38 win over MDI. Had 14 points, four assists, three reboundS, and one steal in 70-35 win over Foxcroft

- Jaycie Christopher- Skowhegan- basketball- scored 32 points, including 1000 in her career in 56-40 win over Messalonskee.
- Kali Thompson- Waterville- basketball- had 17 points and 10 rebounds in 63-44 win over Winslow.
- Izzy Allen- Central- had 14 points and 15 rebounds in 39-26 win over PCHS. Recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals in win over Penquis.
- Jaida Case – Machias – basketball- had 21 points (7-8 FT), six assists, and three steals in 65-35 win over Jonesport-Beals.
