Update on the Community Sports Guidelines is it allows for low/moderate risk sports to play outside of geographic areas. Some of these sports would be Softball/Baseball/Lax and would reason it could open door to statewide tournament for spring sports.

Also for the first season since the 2019/2020 winter season a traditional tournament will take place.
MPA Executive Director Mike Burnham says there will be spring sports championships in 2021. He says the MPA can align with the new guidelines set forth in the Community Sports Guidelines, which allow teams to play out of geographic area.

On Monday more changes were announced as baseball and softball home plate umpires will be positioned behind the pitcher instead of behind the plate.
Change coming to Maine high school baseball and softball this year: no home-plate umpire. That umpire will be behind the pitching mound instead. #MESports
