Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 357 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had five Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nomination. Macey Brown averaged 23 points and 12.5 rebounds to lift Deer Isle-Stonington to a pair of wins. Brown is the second straight Deer Isle-Stonington girls basketball player to earn athlete of the week honors. Luna Perry St. Peter earned the honor last week. Brown joins Lily Gray (1-9-17), her older brother Myles Brown (2) (2-3-2020), Rylee Eaton (2) (3-17-21), and St. Peter.
Female athlete of the week- December 12th-December 18th
- Macey Brown – Deer Isle Stonington- basketball- Recorded a double double with 28 points, 16 rebounds, five steals and a block in 65-42 win over Sumner. Recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and an assist in 43-22 win over Greenville.

- Izzy Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 26 points, eight steals, six rebounds, and five assists in 72-8 win over George Stevens.
Other nominations
- Bailey Breen- Oceanside – basketball- the freshman had 16 points in 63-46 win over Maranacook.
- Jaycie Christopher- Skowhegan- basketball- had 38 points in 78-33 win over Messalonskee.
- Anna Oliver- Hodgdon- basketball- had 21 points in 85-18 win over Washburn.
