The Houlton Shires jumped out to a 30-0 halftime advantage, and rolled to a 42-6 football win over Saint John Valley on Saturday afternoon.
Houlton scored 22 points in the second quarter to take control of the contest. AJ Lewis ran for 55 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries to lead the Shires attack.
Landon Laferriere had 50 yards and one touchdown on nine carries. Aeden Valles, Daniel Clark, and Jackson Cullen each added one touchdown for the Shires. Isaiah Ervin threw for 41 yards and one touchdown on 3-4 passing. Houlton (1-4) will host Mattanawcook on Friday night.
Jovainie Garced connected with Gavin Severe for a 56 yard touchdown for the Saint John Valley score. Saint John Valley (0-5) will take on Orono on Friday night.
