Amidst their first three game losing streak of the season, the #9 Maine men’s ice hockey team would respond on Friday night. Bradly Nadeau had two goals and one assist, and Sully Scholle scored a game winning first period goal in a 5-1 Hockey East win over Northeastern at the Alfond Arena in Orono.
Maine got off to a great start, in attempting to give Northeastern some payback after the Huskies scored five times in the third period to beat them 6-3 three weeks ago in Boston. The Nadeau connection opened the scoring in the first period. Josh Nadeau skated down the right wing, and kept it on his stick behind the Northeastern net before sending a pass from the edge of the left faceoff circle to Bradly Nadeau in the low slot for a one-timer that found the back of the cage at 6:10. Bradly hadn’t scored a goal in the previous nine games.

Breen hadn’t found the back of the cage in the previous 12 games, and was without a point in seven straight.
