Thomas College and the University of Maine-Presque Isle split a four game North Atlantic Conference baseball series played at Colby College in Waterville on Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday (Doubleheader)- Hayden Dippner (Mt. Blue) had two hits and three RBI as the Terriers took game one by a score of 7-1. Kyle Delano (Oak Hill) fired a complete game on the mound to get the victory allowing one run (none earned) on three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. The Owls scored six times in the sixth inning of game two to salvage the split 9-5. Ronnie Golman and Mason Long (Bangor) both had three hits and two RBI to lead the way, while Mitchell Kley added two hits and two RBI. Hector Perez contributed three hits and provided the winning run by scoring on a passed ball. Mike Langely (Presque Isle High) went the distance to get the win on the hill for UMPI.
On Monday (Doubleheader)- Thomas College had three big innings and rolled to a 17-2 win in game one. Nick Griffel and Gus Hollen drove in three runs each. Ian Libby (Gray-New Gloucester) fired a seven inning complete game giving up two runs on five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. UMPI, playing as the home team on Monday, got an infield walkoff single by Perez in the 10th inning of game two to split the series with a 6-5 victory. Mitchell and Perez had two RBI a piece, and Garrett Chadwick earned the win on the mound by going the entire 10 innings. The Owls record goes to 4-9 and 3-5 in the NAC, while the Terriers are now 4-10 and 2-2 in league play.
