In a Class A baseball battle of early season unbeatens on Monday afternoon, the Bangor Rams defeated the Messalonskee Eagles 6-4 in a game played at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.
The Rams (4-0) took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning at 5-4, with the game winning run scoring on an Eagles error. Trey Tennett had two hits and one RBI for Bangor, while Gavin Glanville-True and Jacoby Harvey drove in a run each. Glanville-True also stole two bases. Jonas Gilley scored twice. Nick Llerena got the pitching victory in relief as he allowed no runs on just one hit with no walks and four strikeouts in 2.2 innings. Dagen Gooding and Fin Minkel had two hits a piece for Messalonskee (2-1). Gooding had one RBI, while Peyton Kidd had one hit that drove in two.
