#11 Endicott crushes Husson baseball in opening game game of Division III Regional in New Jersey

#11 Endicott College exploded for 17 runs on 19 hits, and held Husson to just three hits in shutting out the Eagles 17-0 at the NCAA Division III Baseball Regional Tournament in Little Falls, New Jersey on Friday.

The Gulls got off to a 4-0 lead after three innings, and later would really put it away by scoring seven times in the sixth inning. John Fusco and James Benestad each drove in three runs. Endicott (36-9) had seven extra base hits, and advance to play a winners bracket game against host Montclair State on Saturday afternoon. Brady Stuart (8-0) got the victory and helped shut down the Eagles by firing seven innings on the mound allowing just two hits with two walks and 12 strikeouts. Preston Libby, Cam Rendell, and Henry Lausier (Thornton) had the hits for Husson. Avery Lawrence (Deering) fell to 2-5 by taking the pitching loss giving up four runs in three innings. The Eagles (24-17), who had their 13 game win streak snapped, play an elimination game against Whitworth University on Saturday at 11 a.m.
