Bangor softball grabs the final playoff spot in Class A with road win over Camden Hills

Emma Tripp had three RBI and also earned the pitching win on Tuesday afternoon, as Bangor softball held off Camden Hills on the road 6-5 and beat out the Windjammers for the 8th and final playoff spot in Class A North.

Tripp had two hits and also scored a run for the Rams (8-8). Gabby Spreng had three hits and scored two runs, while Kaylee Folsom and Abby Folsom had two hits each. Abby Folsom and Annabelle Pierce each drove in a run. Tripp singled in a run in the top of the seventh that ended up as the game winner that made it 6-2. The Windjammers rallied and had the tying run on first base in their last at bat, but Adriana Pedro lined into a doubleplay to Bangor shortstop Addisyn McAlpine to end the game. Tripp gave up four earned runs and collected the complete game victory in the circle. She gave up nine hits, walked one, and struck out seven. Thea Laukka, Charlotte McGreevy, Karly Putansu, and Maya Stone had two hits a piece for Camden Hills. McGreevy and Putansu drove in two runs each, as the Windjammers end up in 9th place with a record of 9-7.
