The Trenton Acadians rolled into the state tournament of Senior Legion baseball on Wednesday evening with an 11-1 five inning win over the Post 8 Downeast Captains at Bucksport High School.
Evan Haskell, Dawson Curtis, Trent Goss, Hollis Grindal, and Luke Horne all drove in two runs each for Trenton as part of a 14-hit attack. Jackson Barry went the entire five innings to pick up the pitching win, allowing just one run on three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. The Acadians (17-3) were the first to advance to that state tournament that begins on Monday, which will be double elimination and consist of four teams. Colby Moholland had one hit and one RBI for the Downeast Captains (9-11), who will play in Bangor vs the Dunkin Comrades in an elimination game of the pre-qualifier on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
