At Farmington on Tuesday- Lexi Morin (Brunswick) recorded a hat trick in leading the University of Southern Maine women’s soccer team to a 4-0 season opening non-conference win over the host UMaine-Farmington Beavers.
Kadin Davoren assisted on two of the three Morin goals, while the other one came unassisted for the sophomore Morin. Marie Benoit (Hall-Dale) also scored unassisted for the Huskies. Kaylee Vasiloff, Madi Cook, and Halle Brown all saw time in net to combine for the shutout. Roo Sawyer made 19 saves in the loss for the Beavers. USM will host the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in their next game on Friday at 3 p.m., while UMF will host Albion College on Saturday at 5 p.m.
