Sophomore Ethan Berry (Mt. Ararat) assisted on two of three goals scored for his team on Tuesday night, as the University of New England men’s soccer team opened their season with a 3-1 non-conference win over Maine Maritime Academy in Castine.
Berry had helpers on each of the goals scored by Corbin Schreindorfer in the first half to lead the Nor’Easters to the victory. Haukur Karlsson had the other tally in the second half. Landon Dominski (Greely) made one save on two shots in his collegiate debut to pick up the win in net. James Baur (Cheverus) had the lone goal for the Mariners. UNE plays at Rivier in New Hampshire on Friday at 5 p.m. in their next game, while Maine Maritime Academy will host Saint Joseph’s College of Maine on Friday at 4:30.
