Husson first team men’s golf wins at Bangor Muni, as Bruce earns medalist honors

Michael Bruce (Fort Fairfield) earned medalist honors for Eagles men’s golf, as the first team won the Husson Invitational on Saturday at Bangor Muni.

Husson finished the tournament at even-par 284, wining by 23 strokes over the University of Southern Maine and UMaine-Presque Isle who both ended up at 307 in a tie for second. Bruce led the way with the only under-par round in the 66-player field, firing a 2-under 69 to claim medalist honors by two strokes. The Eagles had a total of four golfers inside the top four on the individual scoreboard, as Juan Carlos Hernandez would also finish second at even par (71), while Chase Farnsworth (Dexter) and Ty Dickson both shot a one over (72) to finish tied for fourth. It is the first team victory of the early season for the Eagles first team.
