Greene powers Foxcroft softball to first win of season
Gracie Greene had three hits and three RBI to lead the Foxcroft softball team to a 13-3 win over Mount View on Saturday morning at Foxcroft Academy.
Rylee Heal had three RBI, while Aspen Perry drove home two. Amara Driscol got the win in the circle, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, one walk, while striking out six in the complete game effort. Foxcroft (1-1) will host MCI on Monday.
Emily Richards led the Mustangs offense with two hits and one RBI, while Samantha Rainey and Taylor Stewart each had one RBI. Mount View (0-2) will host Old Orchard on Monday.
Tripp and MacKay lead Belfast softball in win over Lawrence, Lions improve to 5-0
Belfast had three players that recorded three hits each to power a 13 hit Lions attack, as they rolled to a 11-4 win over Lawrence on Saturday afternoon.
Emma Tripp had three hits, three RBI, two runs scored, including a double and a homerun for the Lions. Jordyn MacKay had three hits, three RBI, two runs scored, including a double. Gracie Moore had two hits and one RBI. Laura Carpenter hit a three-run homerun. MacKay got the win in the circle, as she allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk, while striking out nine. Belfast (5-0) will be at Oceanside on Monday.
Kaylee Elkins had three hits and two runs scored from the leadoff spot for the Bulldogs. Ashley Shores hit a three-run homerun. Lawrence (1-4) will be at Erskine on Monday.
