On Friday evening, Reece Carter was named Eastern Maine Sports Lakeshore Restaurant May athlete of the month. Carter has helped the Penobscot Valley High School baseball team reach the semifinal round of the class D tournament. During the month, Carter fired a no hitter against Schenck.
Carter joins Michael Norton JR (October 2017) from Oceanside, Carter Tolmasoff (November 2017) from Bucksport, Peyton Grant (December 2017) from Dexter, Sydney Allen (January 2018) from Central, Zachary Wilson (February 2018) from Piscataquis Community High School, and Gage Poulin (April 2018) from Central high school as athlete of the month winners.
