Alisyn Alley earns Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 315 past athlete of the week winners.

This week we had nine Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Alisyn Alley has helped the Stearns girls basketball team start the season 5-0, including averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 5 steals in leading the Minutemen to four wins this past week. Alley joins nine Stearns student/athletes that have earned athlete of the week honors. Included in this list are Alisyn Alley’s sisters Raychel and Katherine Alley. Here is the full list of past AOW winners from Stearns– Sigrid Koizar  (3) (1-22-12), Taylor Pelkey (1-20-13), Jordan Morrow (5-5-13), Raychel Alley (1-4-14), Zack Bouchard (5-2-15), Jessicca Girsa (4-24-16), Cassidy McLeod (6-4-16), Katherine Alley- (12-11-16), and Seth Garvin (6-11-18).

The Charles Inn female athlete of the week

  • Alisyn Alley- Stearns- Basketball- recorded 19 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 61-23 win over Central. Had 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 43-21 win over PVHS. Had 16 points, eight rebounds, six steals, and four assists in 49-15 win over Mattanawcook. Had 10 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and six steals in 71-27 win over Jonesport-Beals. 

Runner up

  • Lexi Ireland – PVHS- Basketball- recorded 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals in 68-10 win over Penquis. 

Other nominations

  • Peyton Grant – Dexter – Basketball- had 28 points in 63-21 win over Penquis. Scored 20 points in 42-27 win over PCHS. 
  • Elizabeth Kendall – PCHS – Basketball- had 24 points and 10 rebounds in 35-25 win over Mattanawcook. Had 10 points and seven rebounds in 42-27 loss to Dexter. 
  • Jozlynn Paige- Dexter- Basketball- the freshman had 14 points in 63-21 win over Penquis. 
  • Abigail Allen, Central – Basketball – Had 15 points 72-20 win over Sumner. Had 17 points 51-33 win over George Stevens. 
  • Lizzy Gruber – Gardiner- Basketball- the freshman had 19 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks in 57-46 win over Mt. Blue. Scored 13 points in 58-44 win over Cony. 
  • Hannah Richards- Old Town- Basketball- had 20 points in 67-26 win over Foxcroft. 
  • Megan Tracy- Hermon- Basketball – had 18 points in 48-28 win over Houlton.
